Cover Letter and References

(2 customer reviews)

A cover letter is often required for a position that requires a higher level of English language and computer skills. As a written document it is an opportunity for you to highlight your writing skills, grammar and attention to details. It can also be a way to include items that do not easily fit into your resume. These items might relate to what you know about the company, or who you know in the company. They might also include things such as having a drivers licence, ability to pass a criminal record check, your availability to start right away, to work unusual hours, or even your willingness to relocate.

Not all job applications require a cover letter, but if the employer is asking for one the letter must be specific and relate to a certain position and skill set. To be most effective the details in the cover letter should be items not already stated in the resume.

In addition, references are usually a required element of any job application and while I cannot be a reference for you, together we can develop a list of possible choices that would be appropriate and effective choices.
